My story

Independent voice.
Real-world experience.

I have spent over 15 years as a Consultant, COO, CEO, and independent Non-Executive Director at the intersection of development finance, financial inclusion, and institutional governance. My career has not been spent in comfortable, predictable environments — I specialise in emerging and frontier markets, from Kenya and DR Congo to Yemen, Jordan, and Kosovo.

I do not just advise on theory. I have lived the operational reality.

I have guided institutions through some of the most difficult challenges imaginable. When a terrorist attack hit our Nairobi office, I co-led the business continuity response, ensuring our people were supported and our operations survived. When a major fraud case shook an institution in Uganda, I designed the business continuity plan, restored stability, and enforced a zero-tolerance culture. When armed conflicts and disease outbreaks threatened operations in DR Congo, I helped guide management through the crisis from the boardroom. In Cameroon, despite the impact of a tragic civil war, I oversaw a foundation that disbursed over $11 million and reached more than 100,000 unique borrowers.

I am the person who finds and asks the hard questions — but more importantly, I help you find the answers and implement the solutions.

I bring high integrity, independence of judgment, and a collaborative mindset. I am comfortable challenging the status quo constructively, and I believe that good governance is not bureaucracy — it is the foundation that lets great organisations thrive.

What I believe

My Philosophy

Accountability

Trust is built on transparent mechanisms and smart governance design. Accountability is not a constraint — it is what allows organisations to move fast with confidence.

Resilience

An institution must be built to survive its founders and withstand external shocks. The test of governance is not how things run when all is well, but how they hold when things go wrong.

Efficacy & Efficiency

Digital transformation should serve all stakeholders, making operations paper-light, transparent, and scalable. I believe in reimagining capitalism to address social and environmental challenges.

Geography

Where I work

My geographic focus is emerging and frontier markets — environments where governance challenges are real, external shocks are frequent, and the stakes are high. I have deep hands-on experience in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia.

I work across cultures and functions, enabling multi-stakeholder collaboration in contexts where trust is hard-won and institutional memory is fragile. This is not background knowledge — it is the core of what I offer.

I am currently based in Portugal and serve clients across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
